Pharmacy 777 attends WA Mental Health Conference 2026

This week, Pharmacy 777 attended the WA Mental Health Conference 2026, held at Pan Pacific Perth. The event oraganised by the WA Association for Mental Health (WAAMH), brought together professionals, organisations and people with lived experience from across Western Australia's mental health sector to share ideas, experiences and insights.

This year's conference explored the theme 'Towards wellbeing: Taking control in the face of change', focusing on the role of control, optimism and resilience in supporting mentally healthy people, communities and systems.

For Pharmacy 777, the conference provided a valuable opportunity to hear diverse perspectives, learn from others working across the sector and reflect on the important role community pharmacy can play in supporting mental health and wellbeing.

As accessible healthcare professionals within local communities, pharmacists are often a first point of contact for patients and families seeking advice, support or guidance. This places community pharmacies in a unique position to help connect people with the healthcare services and resources they may need.

Pharmacy 777 Business Development Pharmacist Kim Taylor said the conference was a valuable opportunity to connect with the local community and reflect on the role of community pharmacy in mental health care.

"I really enjoyed attending the WA Mental Health Conference and having the opportunity to connect with people working across our local community. It was a great reminder of the important role our Pharmacy 777 pharmacies can play in supporting mental health, particularly because our pharmacists are so closely connected to the communities they serve," Kim said.

"One of the things I value about the Pharmacy 777 model is the ability for our individual pharmacies to build genuine relationships within their local communities. Our pharmacists work closely alongside GPs, mental health organisations and other healthcare professionals, helping connect patients with the support they need. Being part of a franchise network gives our stores the support of the broader Pharmacy 777 Group while still allowing them to develop meaningful local relationships."

The conference highlighted the importance of collaboration across the healthcare sector and the value of accessible, community-based support. It also reinforced the role community pharmacies can play in helping people access care and navigate their healthcare journey.

By continuing to learn, listen and work alongside local healthcare providers and community organisations, Pharmacy 777 aims to help make mental health support more accessible for the people and families who rely on their local pharmacy every day.
