Your Pharmacist can now do more for you
State governments across Australia are progressively introducing pilot programs that authorise Pharmacists to consult and prescribe for selected health conditions.

Launching Late 2026 Across Australia
Pharmacists delivering these services have completed additional, university accredited training to ensure they are fully equipped to provide safe, evidence based and patient centred care to support you with your symptoms.
What to expect
Your initial consultation may take between 10 and 40 minutes, depending on the nature of your concern.
During this time, the Pharmacist will ask questions about your medical and social history to gain a comprehensive understanding of your overall health and wellbeing. A physical examination may also be conducted if clinically appropriate.
In accordance with clinical protocols, a chaperone may be offered. Patients may also request the presence of a chaperone at any stage of their consultation.
Together with the Pharmacist, you will develop a tailored management plan for your presenting condition. In some cases, this may not require a prescription, as the Pharmacist can provide guidance and support to help manage your symptoms effectively.
Pharmacist prescribing forms part of a collaborative healthcare approach, with Pharmacists working alongside your regular GP and other healthcare providers to support safe, coordinated care.
