25/10/2023

A proud supporter of Telethon, Pharmacy 777 has this year has contributed just over $120,000 to support the charity.

For the fourth year in a row, the community-focused pharmacy group is honoured to have played a key role in helping make a difference to the lives of children and their families, with another sizable donation.

The Pharmacy 777 and Telethon partnership has grown over the past four years and is integral to the pharmacy group’s commitment in giving back to the local community.

Over 2022, as part of Telethon, they have supported causes such as the Women & Infants Research Foundation (WIRF) Baby Bundles program providing essential babywear and blankets for families in need; and the Youth Counselling Service delivered by Youth Focus, providing timely support to vulnerable young people who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Pharmacy 777 Chief Executive Officer Jason Brotherson said he was proud to again support such a worthy WA cause.

“Telethon has gone from strength to strength every year and our partnership with them has grown along with it,” Jason said.

“We’re delighted to be able to continue our commitment to Telethon every year. The difference they make to children and their families can be absolutely life changing, thanks in no small part to the generosity of the WA public.

“Telethon is an instantly recognisable brand in WA and we’re incredibly proud to be involved with helping them again this year.”

Since its inception in 1968, Telethon funds have contributed to new medical equipment and facilities, life-changing medical research into children’s diseases, essential services for children with disabilities, empowering opportunities for disadvantaged children and vital counselling and support services.

“Our continued support of Telethon, reaching it’s over 90 beneficiaries, is incredibly important because it underscores our commitment to the health of our community and helping children and families who need additional care,” Jason added.

“Telethon grants support more beneficiaries every year and the annual Telethon Weekend raises a huge amount of funds to help support people, research and programs behind the health of WA kids.

“The funds we have been able to raise for Telethon 2023 through the purchase of the iconic Fat Cat dolls are thanks to the generosity of the community and our wonderful pharmacy teams.”

The announcement of the donation was made on Saturday October 21 during the live telecast, followed by an additional $10,000 at the Family Festival kids celebrity challenges, held on Sunday.

Throughout their partnership with Telethon, Pharmacy 777 has donated over $500,000 to Telethon. Fat Cat dolls including some limited-edition Fat Cats in pyjamas are available across Pharmacy 777 locations in WA all year round. All proceeds go direct to Telethon.
