Growing from a single, Applecross location in 1962 to over 75 locations across Western Australia and interstate, Pharmacy 777 have become a local success story, and friend to Cancer Council WA.

With over $76,000 raised for cancer research and treatment across the past 25 years, Pharmacy 777 took their support of Cancer Council WA to the next level in 2022, putting their name to a room at Cancer Council WA’s Crawford Lodge through our Adopt a Room program, an association which has continued in 2023.

With regional cancer patients facing many challenges in accessing medical support, our lodges provide safe, clean, and comfortable accommodation options in Perth during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

“The fact that we knew we had a roof over our head, the comfortability of knowing we are surrounded by others going through the same or having had been through it. It made us feel more at ease knowing we were able to stay there and also be so close to the hospital to access treatment,” said a lodge guest in 2023.

The sponsoring of a room at our Crawford Lodge is the latest generous donation in a quarter century of fundraising by Pharmacy 777.

“Cancer Council WA’s support services available at the facility certainly has a positive impact to the care of patients visiting Perth for cancer treatment from regional and remote areas,” said Pharmacy 777 CEO, Jason Brotherson.
“We’re very pleased to contribute towards the Adopt a Room program to provide patients and families with accommodation as a home away from home at a time they need it most.”

In addition to a quarter century of fundraising activities, Pharmacy 777 partnered with Cancer Council WA in 2017 as major sponsor of our ‘Breast Aware’ campaign, aimed at encouraging West Australian women to be self-aware and check themselves regularly using an innovative ‘five signs guide’ that could be hung in the shower.

In 2018, Pharmacy 777 Karratha partnered with Cancer Council WA in an effort to address smoking cessation and early cancer detection in the Pilbara.

Cancer Council WA CEO, Ashley Reid, paid tribute to this ongoing support of Cancer Council WA by Pharmacy 777 at a special event held at Crawford Lodge.

“Pharmacy 777 have been a wonderful part of the West Australian community for the past 60 years, and in that time have shown immense support to Cancer Council WA.

Looking back on years of fundraising activities and partnerships, we are grateful for Pharmacy 777’s dedication to unlocking a future free from cancer”, shares Mr Reid.
