Diabetes WA are urging Western Australians to take diabetes,
as well as their individual risk of
developing
type 2 diabetes, very seriously.
It is disturbing to know that,
for every person
currently living with the condition, there is another person undiagnosed.
Nearly one in four Australian adults, or an estimated 3.2 million people, have diabetes or pre-diabetes
and this trend is on the rise.
The positive news is that type 2 diabetes can be prevented,
which is an
opportunity for many people finding themselves at risk to take action.
